What I do at The New York Public Library

I am the Associate Director, Manuscripts, Archives, and Rare Books and Charles J. Liebman Curator of Manuscripts at The New York Public Library.

Why The New York Public Library

One of the best things about working at the New York Public Library is being part of a committed team of professionals who are enthusiastic caretakers of the Library's unparalleled collections and are committed to widespread, democratic access to knowledge.

Who am I?

I am a historian, curator, author and educator. I received my PhD in history from Columbia University and have worked in libraries and museums for about fifteen years. My book Newspaper Confessions: A History of Advice Columns in a Pre-Internet Age, was published by Oxford University Press in 2021.
