Ivy Kuhrman
Supervising Librarian
What I do at The New York Public Library
I am the Supervising Librarian at the Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library. I love providing reference services to our patrons, doing outreach across the city and beyond, and hosting our branch's Ukulele Club.
Who am I?
I have been working in public libraries (across three states) since I was in high school. I started my post-MSLIS career as a Children's Librarian at Queens Public Library, and before taking on the role of Supervising Librarian, I was a Young Adult Librarian at the Andrew Heiskell Library for over three years.
Advice for prospective candidates
Keep in mind that the Andrew Heiskell Library is both a branch of NYPL and a Regional Library in the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled.
