What I do at The New York Public Library
As a hiring manager, my role is to build a strong, balanced team that can effectively serve our community. I review candidates not just for their experience, but for how they approach service, teamwork, and problem-solving. I’m also responsible for making sure new hires are set up for success—from onboarding to understanding expectations and workflows.
Why The New York Public Library
I always encourage candidates to be authentic and thoughtful in how they present their experiences. We are looking not only for skills, but for individuals who are committed to service, teamwork, and creating a positive environment for both patrons and colleagues.
